Job Profile Summary:
The Children's Ministry Worker is a position responsible for providing support to local Children's Ministries at Kamloops Church and Resource Centre including the School's Out Program and Around the Table Program. This position involves providing holistic care across these programs within the church and local community.
Responsibilities And Accountabilities:Provides support in the planning, preparation, and leading of children's events and programming including, but not limited to, School's Out Program, Around the Table, etc.
Ensures the Gospel of Jesus Christ is exemplified in the performance of all job responsibilities and through personal example.
Prays with and shares the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ with children, youth, and parents.
Knows and acts in accordance with security procedures of The Salvation Army to ensure the safety and confidentiality of participants (children, youth, parents). Ensures that all Territorial Abuse Policy requirements and child protection protocols are consistently observed in the running of children/youth/family ministries.
Assists the family ministries coordinator in developing program plans for ministries and maintains written records/logs and statistical information.
May be called upon to support special events within our ministries- Around the Table, VBS, etc.
Participates in staff training and development.
Provides leadership and oversight of School's Out Program in the event of absence of Family Min. Coordinator.

Maintain strict confidentially of all matters pertaining to the program participants.Adhere to policies and procedures relating to the programs.
May assist with different basic administrative tasks - photocopy activities, greeting parents and families, etc. as required. Assists with general cleanliness of the lessons area. Assist with the MU/facility general clean up and set up for different activities. Strong administrative, organization, written, digital and verbal communication skills. Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record check clearance Valid BC Driver's License and clean driver's abstract Love for children/youth and family-focused ministries Performs other work-related duties as assigned. Represent the organization in a positive, professional, and engaging manner. Exhibit good listening and interpersonal skills, have strong oral/written communication skills. Understanding of individuals of diverse social and cultural backgrounds. Good team player. Good oral and writing skills.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:Working environment is typically in the corps building in generally agreeable conditions and some outdoor

duties.Some evenings may be required. Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. May deal with upset people or challenging behaviours.
Willingness to develop an understanding and support for the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army

in Canada and its implications as related to position responsibilities.Work in compliance with OH&S Act and Regulations and abide by The Salvation Army's health and safety

policies and procedures.
Alternative combination of education and Experience may be considered.
Education, Qualifications and Certifications:Completion of High School.

Completion of a formal post-secondary college program of one academic year
Alternative combinations of education and experience may be consideredCPR, First Aid or willingness to complete once hired.

Compensation:
The target hiring range for this position is $17.85 to $20.43 with a maximum of $24.52.
Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
