Overview

We are seeking a creative, patient, and enthusiastic

Children's Cooking Instructor

to lead fun and educational cooking sessions for kids. This role is part of our neighbourhood association's community programming and aims to teach children basic cooking skills, kitchen safety, and nutrition through hands-on experiences.

The instructor will work a combined

10 hours per week on Wednesdays (4:30-7:30) Thursdays (4:30-7:30) and Fridays (4:30-7:30) and 1 hour of prep,

planning and leading interactive cooking classes that focus on

simple, kid-friendly dishes

Key Responsibilities

Plan weekly cooking lessons appropriate for children aged [5-11Y] Create simple, engaging, and healthy recipes that are fun and safe for kids to make Set up and clean up cooking stations before and after each class Supervise children during all cooking activities, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment Teach basic kitchen skills such as measuring, mixing, chopping (age-appropriate), and food hygiene Manage supplies and ingredients, maintaining an organized and clean kitchen space Communicate with parents and staff as needed

Skills

Experience working with children in a teaching, camp, or recreational setting Basic cooking and kitchen safety knowledge Ability to plan and lead age-appropriate cooking activities Strong organizational and time management skills Positive, friendly, and engaging personality

Food Handler Certification required

Clear Vulnerable Sector Check required

Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 weeks

Pay: $28.00-$32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 per week

Experience:

Cooking: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
