Pathways Health Centre for Children is a charitable not-for-profit family-centred community agency serving children and youth with physical, developmental and communication needs. Celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2025, the Centre provides a full range of pediatric rehabilitation and support services, largely funded by the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services. In addition, Pathways offers a therapeutic pool, open to people of all ages and abilities in the community and has a licensed, integrated childcare service on site (C.A.C.H.E.).

We are currently recruiting for a replacement for:

Child Care Assistant, C.A.C.H.E. Child Care Service (Casual

Reporting to the Supervisor, C.A.C.H.E., the Child Care Assistant will assist the classroom Early Childhood Education (ECE) educators with planning and implementing learning experiences that advance the cognitive, emotional, social and physical development of children within a safe, healthy learning environment and promote school readiness.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

Diploma in a related field to Early Childhood Education an asset Current Standard First Aid/CPR certification required Comfortable interacting with children with special needs as well as typically developing children Ability to physically assist children with participation in program activities Understanding and acceptance of differences in children's learning behaviour Ability to follow directions and provide input to the team re: classroom and individual child programming Understanding of How Does Learning Happen? Pedagogy and the importance of making meaningful connections with children and families Commitment to a routine-based child care approach Fluency in French an asset

Hourly Rate of Pay

: $20.39 - $21.01

The successful candidate must be available to work flexible hours, provide a Police Vulnerable Sector Check and proof of applicable immunizations and vaccinations are required.
