0-500 hours $18.39 per hour


501-1000 hours $18.94 per hour


1001 - 1500 hours $19.51 per hour


1500 + hours $20.10 per hour

This position will report to the Supervisor, Child, Youth and work collaboratively with other members of the YMCA team to provide a safe and fun environment for our child, youth, and family programming and to provide a safe and welcoming experience in branch.

Major Responsibilities

:

Lead programs for children aged 0 to 12 years old in a positive and professional manner Facilitate games and activities for various children's programs to promote active and creative play Build meaningful relationships with children, parents, YMCA members, visitors, and colleagues Navigate challenging conflict situations using YMCA standards and procedures Ensure program design, lay-out, and offerings meet the needs of all participants at various levels Lead program delivery, while ensuring contents meet the appropriate criteria and outline Strong work ethic and able to remain flexible Perform general administrative duties and record keeping responsibilities Ensure the safety of all members, participants, staff, and property by following YMCA policies and ensuring they are maintained among all members and staff Assist with training new staff/volunteers in procedures and practices Provide exemplary customer service to all members, guests and participants in all program areas by providing facility tours and education on current program offerings relevant to the member/family

Qualification

Current Standard First Aid certificate with CPR level C & AED (valid within 2 years) Experience working with children - preferred Demonstrated high level of customer service skills Successful candidate will be required to provide 3 satisfactory references Successful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Record check with a Vulnerable sector search issued no later than six (6) months preceding the start date.
