Position Overview



We are currently seeking compassionate and skilled

Child and Youth Care Practitioners (CYCPs)

to join our

Young Women's Youth Justice Program

in Brampton. This program supports young women aged 16-24 who are involved in the justice system and/or accessing therapeutic day treatment services.

As a CYCP, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, respectful, and empowering space for young women. You will support them in daily routines, emotional regulation, life skills development, and building pathways toward independence and positive community connections.

Key Responsibilities



Build positive, professional, and supportive relationships with young women using trauma-informed and anti-oppressive approaches Facilitate life skills programming, educational support, recreational activities, and community engagement Provide consistent supervision and promote safety within a structured, inclusive, and gender-responsive environment Assist with daily routines, appointments, and transitions Complete accurate and timely documentation (daily logs, incident reports, medication records, etc.) Uphold agency and Ministry policies, including a

no-restraint, non-physical intervention

model Support a team culture grounded in empathy, accountability, and collaboration Participate in household duties, property checks, and reporting protocols

Qualifications (Required)



Diploma or Degree in Child and Youth Care, Social Services, Community Justice, or a related field

Must identify as a woman

, in alignment with the gender-responsive nature of this program Minimum 1 year of experience working with youth aged 16-24, preferably in residential or justice-related programs Current Vulnerable Sector Police Check (or willingness to obtain) Standard First Aid & CPR Level C Certification CPI and/or UMAB Crisis Intervention Certification (required) Fully vaccinated for COVID-19 (2 doses minimum) and up-to-date immunizations Strong communication and documentation skills Ability to remain calm and supportive during crisis or escalated situations Physically able to participate in program and recreational activities

Experience working with young women and youth from diverse backgrounds, including Indigenous, racialized, and 2SLGBTQ+ communities Understanding of gender-based violence, trauma-informed practices, and harm reduction Knowledge of youth justice, residential care, and shelter system standards Flexibility for shift work (including overnights, weekends, holidays, and on-call coverage) Commitment to creating inclusive, culturally safe, and empowering environments Strong collaboration and communication within team settings
