We are seeking a caring, dedicated, and enthusiastic team member to join us as a Support Needs Worker. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for working with young children and a strong understanding of child development, particularly in the 18 months-5 age group.
There may be an opportunity for this position to grow to more hours or full-time, depending on the needs of the children and our program
Responsibilities
Support young children's holistic development through inclusive, developmentally appropriate practices aligned with the BC Early Learning Framework and ECEBC Code of Ethics.
Implement individualized strategies from each child's care plan and collaborate with supporting agencies.
Observe, monitor, and respond respectfully and empathetically to children's needs, behaviours, development, and well-being.
Guide positive social interactions and foster a safe, inclusive environment for all children.
Build authentic, respectful relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
Communicate openly and respectfully with parents/guardians about their child's progress and needs.
Collaborate with staff to maintain an inclusive and supportive atmosphere.
Follow licensing regulations, health and safety protocols, and daycare policies.
Provide caregiving support with daily routines such as meals, hygiene, and play.
Uphold confidentiality at all times.
Engage actively in professional development and team meetings.
Qualifications
RA/ ECEA / ECE Certificate or related training preferred
Criminal Record Check clearance ( Including Vulnerable sector)
Up-to-date immunization record
Three references
Vaild Emergence Child Care First Aid & CPR Level B certification
Previous experience working with children in a childcare or educational setting is preferred.
Experience working with individuals requiring additional support is a plus
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with children of various ages
Genuine compassion and dedication to supporting children's growth
Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in caregiving.
