We are looking for a caring, dependable, and culturally sensitive Childminding Staff member to join our team. In this role, you will provide nurturing, childminding in a supportive environment for children in a second stage transition house for women who have experienced intimate partner violence.


This is an independent role that requires excellent communication, observation, and organizational skills.

What you'll be doing:

Child-minding of children of various ages, both individually and in small groups Ensure a clean, safe, and engaging environment at all times. Sanitize toys and equipment, launder cloths and bibs, and set up physical space for daily activities. Greet mothers and children warmly during drop-off and pick-up. Share and receive relevant information with mothers and staff. Offer parenting resources and information to mothers in second-stage housing. Perform other related duties as required to support the overall functioning of the space and well-being of the children.

What you'll need:

A valid BC Early Learning Educator (ECE) License would be a strong asset Experience working with children Able to manage small groups effectively Knowledge of child development Ability to work independently and respond to a variety of situations Strong communication and observation skills Culturally sensitive and respectful of diverse family backgrounds Appropriate boundaries A feminist analyis of intimate partner violence (or willingness to learn) Comfortable using Microsoft Word Microsoft Teams and willing to learn how to use ADP Workforce now, Safetyline and Relias. Current First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain) A clear criminal record and vulnerable sector check
