Children's Therapy Collective - Child Counsellor/Mental Health Therapist Position
Children's Therapy Collective is currently seeking a passionate Child Counsellor/Mental Health Therapist to join our team on a casual/contract basis with flexible hours. Ideally, this individual would start with a Saturday or Sunday shift and expand their caseload from there. Occasional daytime availability also considered an asset.
Responsibilities:
Deliver counselling/therapy interventions to children approx. ages 4-18 with social, emotional, and behavioral support needs, including complex trauma, intergenerational trauma, and addictions.
Commit to a regular "shift" to have clients booked in by Children's Therapy Collective Mental Health Team Lead.
Maintain up-to-date documentation and case notes.
Effectively communicate the Children's Therapy Collective admin team as needed.
Adhere to the CCPA code of ethics and the code of conduct dictated by their professional college.
Participate in regular clinical supervision.
Qualifications:
Training in Play Therapy and/or a Play Therapy Certification
Master's or Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Counselling, Social Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Art Therapy, or a related discipline from a recognized university is preferred.
Must be registered with a licensing body.
Possess or be willing to obtain adequate professional liability insurance in Manitoba.
Proficiency in applying a trauma-informed approach to therapy/counselling.
Ability to create cultural safety for all populations and practice using an anti-racist framework and trauma-informed approach.
Must have an awareness and understanding of the Calls to Action and Jordan's Principle.
Strong interpersonal, self-management, and communication skills
Proficiency in technology and adaptable to various applications and platforms
Assets:
Experience engaging with and supporting indigenous communities and individuals.
Training and experience with treatment modalities such as: Play therapy, ACT, Theraplay, art therapy, CBT, DBT, ACT, Solutions-Focused Brief Therapy, or EMDR
Experience providing mental health therapy to children and youth who have experienced trauma.
Experience providing virtual therapy.

Scheduling flexibility- we are seeking an individual to work Saturday or Sunday for a shift with clients, ability to expand to weekday evenings or daytime.
