Child Counsellor / Play Therapist
We are looking for a qualified mental health professional who specializes in working with children, teens, and their families to join our team as a child counsellor using play-based approaches.
Training and/or certification in play therapy (or interested in obtaining);
Familiar with using play-based, experiential interventions;
Sound experience and training in complex trauma;
Experience working with a wide age range of children and adolescents, and diverse, vulnerable populations; and
Familiar with and able to provide therapy for a wide range of issues.
This position is flexible and a benefits package is available. Compensation is commensurate with experience. Training and supervision towards certification as a play therapist can be provided.
Qualifications
Current certification or registration to practice as a psychologist, psychotherapist, counsellor, or social worker;
Clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector search;
Professional liability insurance;
Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; and
Ability to use Microsoft Office.
Verbal and written French language fluency and/or EMDR training would be an asset.
