Job Description

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Team Lead Worker to join our team in Red Deer. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting youth through trauma-informed care in a safe and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities



In this leadership role, you will:

Build trusting relationships while respecting each individual's uniqueness

Promote a safe and secure environment by following established safety procedures

Lead by example on shift, offering coaching and support to staff and clients

Facilitate structured, youth-focused daily routines

Participate in meal prep and support youth in developing life skills

Celebrate youth identity and self-worth

Act as an advocate, ensuring youth have access to the Child and Youth Advocate

Provide a nurturing and emotionally responsive environment

Help youth with skill development in social interaction, emotional regulation, and cognitive coping strategies

Requirements and Qualifications



Diploma (minimum 2 years) in Human Services or related field

At least 3 years' experience working directly with children or youth in care

Must be 18 years or older

Valid Class 5 Driver's License for 3 or more years in Canada and clean Driver's Abstract (fewer than 6 demerits)

Clear Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Sector) and Child Intervention Check

Knowledge and experience in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI)

Understanding of child development, trauma, grief, and loss

Awareness and respect for Indigenous cultures and traditions

Commitment to inclusive care across diverse communities and identities

Strong cross-cultural communication skills and ability to support marginalized populations

Mandatory Requirements:

If you are selected as the successful candidate, you will be required to provide the following documents as a condition of employment upon receiving the job offer

A Criminal Record Check (with Vulnerable Sector) that is dated within the last 6 months

A Child Intervention Check that is dated within the last 6 months

Proof of eligibility to work in Canada

Class 5 Alberta Government Issued Driver's License for 3 or more years in Canada

A Driver's Abstract that is dated within the last 6 months

Copy of education listed in resume.
