Summary
Under the Canada Summer Job Agreement,
we are seeking motivated candidate
aged 15-30, to join our team as a
Early Learning Child Care Educator. This role offers the opportunity to support children's learning and development. This full-time position for 35 hours a week, plays a vital role in providing quality care and education to children aged 0-12 years, ensuring their safety, development, and well-being. Applicants must meet eligibility criteria (see below).
Age: Must be 15 years or older at the start of employment (youth may exceed age 30 by the end of employment if they were 30 or younger at the start).
- Residency: Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or individuals with refugee status.
-_ Not Eligible: International students, temporary visa holders (including visitor/work/study permits), or those awaiting refugee status rulings._
Responsibilities
Supervise and engage with children during daily activities and routines.
Plan and implement educational activities that promote developmental growth.
Maintain a safe and clean environment for all children.
Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress and needs.
Assist in maintaining records of children's development and daily activities.
Support children with special needs or disabilities as required.
Collaborate with other staff members to create a cohesive learning environment
. Plan, organize, document and implement programming inclusive of: indoor/outdoor gross motor activities, art, science, music, multicultural etc.
Assess the developmental level of children
Actively supervise children in care in compliance with behaviour guidance policies.
Creating learning stories and utilizing the curriculum framework in day to day activities with children.
Communicate daily with families at drop off time.
Be engaging with children and support their engagement in activities.
Be an active participant within a team environment.
Program Planning based on Curriculum Framework/ Open Ended/Loose Parts/Reggio Approach
Prepare Himama reports and discuss with parents
Provide supervision and guidance of daily activities
Must be able to articulate and model professional child care practice
Ensure the delivery of quality licensed childcare center
Adhere to the Accreditation standards
Assisting with housekeeping duties
Maintain daycare supplies and equipment

Team building skills with an emphasis on collaboration, communication and coordination
. Participate in mentorship sessions to develop professional skills.
Requirements
Diploma or degree or Minimum Level 1 in Early Childhood Education is required.
Experience working in a childcare setting is essential.
First Aid/CPR certification is mandatory.
Criminal record check with vulnerable sector search prior to start date.
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Ability to multitask while maintaining a positive attitude.
