Community Respite Worker (1:1 Child Care Respite Worker)

About Us

Ancora Light Respite is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Community Respite Worker (RW). This is a causal coverage position providing support on an as-needed basis to children with diverse abilities in a childcare community setting. You will work closely with educators to ensure children receive quality care, safety, and meaningful engagement.

Responsibilities

Provide1:1 support to a child and/or classroom support in collaboration with Early Childhood Educators. Deliver individualized care and apply positive behaviour management techniques. Utilize ABA strategies effectively to support children's needs. Engage children in activities that promote social interaction, learning, and skill development. Maintain accurate records and progress notes. Collaborate with the team to ensure consistency and high-quality support.

Qualifications

Diploma or degree in Child and Youth Work, Early Childhood Education, or a related field. Minimum

1 year of experience

supporting children with diverse abilities (experience in child care, classrooms, or special needs support preferred). Knowledge and practical application of ABA strategies. Strong organizational and communication skills. CPR/First Aid Certification. Police & Vulnerable Sector Check. Medical documentation (as per Public Health requirements).
