We support children and youth navigating behavioral, emotional, physical, developmental, and psychiatric challenges. Position Overview:
We are currently hiring
Child and Youth Workers (CYW)
and
Developmental Support Workers (DSW)
to work in
Catholic school classrooms
across the Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB). You'll work alongside educators to support students with complex needs such as autism and mental health challenges within a respectful, inclusive, and faith-aligned environment rooted in Catholic values.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 or small group support to students with behavioral and developmental needs.
Follow individualized behaviour support plans in collaboration with teachers and school staff.
Support students with daily routines, academic tasks, emotional regulation, and social development.
Maintain daily documentation and support logs.
Uphold Catholic values by fostering a safe, compassionate, and inclusive classroom environment.
Schedule:
3-5 days per week
(flexible)
Up to 7 hours per day
(typically between 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM)
Qualifications:
Diploma/Degree in Child and Youth Care or Developmental Support Work.
Valid First Aid/CPR certification.
UMAB or CPI certification (or willingness to obtain).
Minimum 1 year of experience supporting children/youth with autism, developmental disabilities, or behavioral challenges (preferably in schools).
Recent Vulnerable Sector Check (within the last 12 months) or willingness to obtain.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Physically capable of performing job duties (e.g., kneeling, lifting, sitting on the floor).
Reliable transportation.
