Family & Children\'s Services of the Waterloo Region is a community organization legally mandated to respond

children, youth and families thrive.To continue to support the work that we do, the Agency is looking for a Child and Youth Worker to join our
team.Family & Children\'s Services of the Waterloo Region currently has an opportunity for a Child and Youth
Worker. This is a temporary role of approximately 6 months and will work up to 40 hours per week. Initially,
the role will provide in-home and community support for a child with a higher than typical level of energy and
requires constant supervision for the summer months and will transition to support other children and youth
in the fall. The successful candidate will be skilled in supporting children and youth with high-needs behaviours
in a positive and supportive way.Knowledge & Skills Required:

  • Relevant undergraduate Diploma, degree or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience in working in family homes to promote positive change in family functioning utilizing a
family centred practice approach.
  • Solid understanding of child development and attachment and trauma informed practice
  • NCI Certification would be considered an asset.
  • Valid \'G\' Ontario Driver\'s License and access to reliable vehicle
Salary Range:
$26.1423 - $32.4161 per hour
Social Work Grade 6
