Child And Youth Worker
Job Description
We are looking for part-time employees:
-Overnight awake shifts
-Weekend shifts
-Day shifts
-Evening shifts
Responsibilities:
- Provide care and support to youth in a residential setting
- Assist with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition for youth
- Create a safe and nurturing environment for youth
- Implement and facilitate recreational activities and educational programs
- Monitor and document the progress and behavior of youth
- Collaborate with other staff members to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of living spaces
Skills:
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with youth, their families, and other staff members
- Ability to handle challenging behaviors with patience and empathy
- Excellent organizational skills, communication skills both oral and written and computer literacy
Qualifications
Completion of post-secondary education in a related field (Child Youth Worker, Social Service Worker)
Understanding of working within a framework of diversity, equity and inclusion
*Knowledge of The Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services, Child, Youth and Family Service Act guidelines, policies and procedures.
*First Aid and CPR
*Valid G license
Vulnerable Sector Clearance
Board Record Check
UMAB
Trauma Informed is an added advantage.
