Position Summary

We're looking for a dedicated

Child and Youth Worker

to provide

in-home behavioural support

to children and teens with complex emotional and behavioural needs. You'll offer structured, one-on-one care, build positive routines, and give families meaningful respite.

What You'll Do

Provide hands-on care to children/youth (under 18) with behavioural challenges (e.g., aggression, defiance, emotional outbursts) Implement behavioural strategies outlined in individualized Behaviour Support Plans (BSP) Facilitate safe, structured activities that support emotional and social development Assist with daily routines while promoting independence and confidence Use de-escalation techniques and trauma-informed practices when needed Communicate regularly with families and maintain accurate daily records Collaborate with other professionals to review progress and adjust care strategies

What You Bring

Diploma or degree in Child and Youth Work, Social Services, or related field CPR, First Aid, and Non-Violent Crisis Prevention and Intervention (NVCPI) certification (required) Experience working with children/youth with behavioral needs (2 years preferred; new grads welcome) Strong communication skills and emotional resilience Valid G Driver's License and reliable access to a vehicle (required) UMAB (Understanding and managing aggressive behavior) Vulnerable sector check Child welfare check is nice to have

Pay: $21.00-$24.00 per hour

Education:

Secondary School (preferred)
Experience:

Youth care: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:

Understanding and managing aggressive behaviour (required) 1st aid and CPR (preferred) Vulnerable sector check (preferred) NVCI (preferred) CPI (preferred)
Willingness to travel:
