Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Child and Youth Care Workers to join our team as a Full-Time staff member In this role, you will be responsible for providing support and care to children and youth in a residential setting. Your primary focus will be on creating a safe and nurturing environment, promoting emotional well-being, and facilitating positive development.

Responsibilities:

Provide daily care, supervision and guidance to children and youth in a residential facility. Foster a supportive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages personal growth and development. Implement and follow established care plans for each child/youth, addressing their unique needs and goals. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure a comprehensive approach to child/youth care. Facilitate and participate in recreational activities, educational programs, and therapeutic interventions. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of resident progress and incidents. Respond effectively to crisis or challenging behaviors, implementing de-escalation techniques as needed.

Qualifications:

Minimum high school diploma or previous experience in residential care settings or similar environments Strong understanding of child development. Trauma-informed care, and therapeutic interventions Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

MCFD criminal record check Valid driver's license (or willingness to obtain) First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain) Tuberculosis Test (or willingness to obtain) Physician letter to verify ability to work in this field (in house form will be provided to bring to physician) Mandt training (or willingness to obtain) Food Safe Training (or willingness to obtain) Naloxone Training (or willingness to obtain)
Schedule:

8 Hour Shifts (7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, 11pm-7am) Night shifts Day Shifts Evening Shifts On call Weekends as needed
Licence/Certification:

Driving License Class 5 (required)
