Child and Family Well-Being Services Supervisor

REPORTS TO: Child, Youth, and Family Well-Being Services Director

DEPARTMENT: Child, Youth, and Family Well-Being Services

LOCATION: Community Centre, 328 Chippewa Road, Muncey Ontario

TERM: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm EST (Evenings and weekends may be required)

Summary

The Child and Family Well-Being Services (CFWBS) Supervisor is responsible for providing direct supervision, clinical direction, and support to Child and Family Well-Being Workers, the Community Prevention Worker, and the Special Needs Navigator. This position plays a critical role in overseeing prevention services programs for children, youth, and families within the community.

The Supervisor ensures that programs and services align with legislative requirements, organizational policies, and the cultural values of Chippewas of the Thames First Nation. The role includes managing staff development, monitoring service quality, coordinating budgets and service plans, and fostering strong community relationships. This position requires a highly motivated leader committed to advocacy, cultural integration, and promoting the well-being of First Nation children and families.

Responsibilities

Provide direct supervision, guidance, and clinical direction to Child and Family Well-Being staff. Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and community standards. Oversee program planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of prevention services. Facilitate training and professional development opportunities for staff. Collaborate with the CYFWBS Director in annual service planning, budget development, and financial monitoring. Develop workflows, service coordination processes, and reporting structures for prevention staff. Participate in case reviews, integrated service meetings, and community events as required. Ensure all service delivery incorporates cultural values, traditions, and the promotion of positive cultural identity for children and youth. Maintain effective communication with staff, community partners, and other service providers. Prepare and submit monthly reports to the CYFWBS Director. Advocate for the rights and well-being of First Nation children and families.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related Social Services field (preferred). Community College Diploma in Social Services may be considered. Minimum of three years' experience in Social Services or a related field in a First Nation community. Minimum of two years' direct experience with at-risk children and youth. Demonstrated supervisory and leadership experience. Strong knowledge of Ojibway culture, traditions, and community-based prevention programming. Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and maintain confidentiality. Current First Aid/CPR certification. Valid "G" driver's license with access to an insured vehicle ($1,000,000 liability coverage). Clear CPIC and Vulnerable Sector Check. Proficient with MS Office and electronic case management systems.
