On behalf of our Public Sector Client, Ignite Technical Resources is recruiting for a Chief Program Officer - Workday HCMS Transformation to join our Client's team on a 6-month Contract basis. This role is Hybrid (onsite in Burnaby as needed).
Summary of the Role
The Chief Program Officer (CPO) will lead a province-wide implementation of the Workday Human Capital Management System (HCMS) across multiple health organizations in British Columbia. This role requires extensive experience in Workday SaaS HRM solutions, ERP environments, and executive-level program leadership. The successful candidate will oversee program execution, governance, and change management while mentoring and upskilling an identified leader to assume the CPO role by April 2026.
Duties & Responsibilities
Provide executive leadership for the Workday HCMS transformation program, ensuring successful replacement of legacy HR systems with a standardized SaaS platform.
Oversee program governance, risk management, and strategy execution across multiple health organizations.
Collaborate with integration partners and senior stakeholders to drive program delivery.
Mentor and upskill an identified leader to transition into the CPO role by April 2026.
Ensure alignment of program objectives with organizational strategy and provincial priorities.
Support change management, communication, and stakeholder engagement at an executive level.
Manage complex organizational and political dynamics to ensure successful program execution.
Core Requirements
Master's degree in Computing Science, Business Administration, Information Systems, or related field.
15+ years of experience in complex HCMS/ERP environments.
10+ years in senior leadership roles.
Proven experience implementing Workday SaaS HRM solutions at the enterprise level.
PMP certification or equivalent experience.
Desired Skills & Experience
Familiarity with the BC Health sector and provincial HR systems.
Experience collaborating with Workday and large consulting firms.
Demonstrated success mentoring senior leaders into executive roles.
Political acumen and familiarity with provincial digital health strategies (asset).
Experience working within highly visible, multi-stakeholder transformation programs.
Terms
This is a 6-month contract role based in Burnaby, BC, with a Hybrid arrangement (onsite as needed). At this time, there are no confirmed pre-offer requirements; however, this may be updated by the Client during the hiring process.
