Role Description & Key Responsibilities
This is a full-time onsite role for a
Chief Pilot - Rotary Wing
located in the
National Capital Region
, just outside Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. As the Chief Pilot, you will:
report to and assist the Operations Manager in overseeing rotary wing flight operations;
oversee recurrent flight training, pilot proficiency check rides, ground briefings, and curriculum review;
maintain and ensure currency for flight crew training records;
monitor and verify the accuracy of pilot flight duty time records;
develop and administer operating procedures in accordance with Canadian Aviation Regulations, Standards, and Company Policies;
manage flight crew scheduling;
engage with flight crew on aviation safety hazards, events, and incidents, ensuring accurate reporting and timely follow-up;
perform regular line pilot flying duties in the field as required.
This role will involve periodic away-from-base travel (up to 4 weeks per year).

Required Qualifications
Current and valid Canadian Commercial Helicopter Pilots Licence (CPL-H or ATPL-H) and Canadian Aeronautical Radio License;
Current and valid Canadian Category 1 Medical Certificate;
5+ years of experience flying rotary wing helicopters;
Minimum of 3,000 hours of accident and incident-free flight time as Pilot in Command (Helicopter), of which 250 hours shall be acquired within the preceding 3 years;
Experience working in remote regions of Canada as a rotary-wing line pilot (arctic, mountain, precision longline, wildfire suppression, and utility experience will be considered assets);
Thorough knowledge of the Canadian Aviation Regulations and Standards, Aviation Regulations Training Standards and electronic aviation systems, EFBs, equipment, and programs;
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with proficiency in English;
Self-motivated with strong leadership and decision-making competencies;
The legal right to work in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience as a rotary wing Chief Pilot;
Experience as a rotary wing training pilot and/or ACP;
Type rating and PIC experience on single-pilot or multi-crew, twin-engine helicopters;
Current and valid Canadian Group IV Instrument Rating;
Current and valid unrestricted ATPL-H licence;
NVG (NVIS) qualified and current;
Type rating and PIC experience on one or more of the following aircraft types: Bell 206B/L3/L4, 407, 205A-1, 204B, 212, 230, Sikorsky SK70/UH-60, SK61.
Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications and will be required to obtain and maintain Government of Canada Reliability Status security clearance.
