Remote (U.S. or Canada) | $120,000 to $140,000 Base + Performance Bonus
Martine Law is one of the fastest-scaling legal networks in the United States. We're building a national platform across Minnesota, North Carolina, Texas, and New Jersey: twelve specialized firms operating under a single financial and operational architecture. We're seeking a Chief Financial Officer who combines strategic vision with operational precision -- someone who can build financial infrastructure that keeps pace with rapid expansion.
The Opportunity
This role is not about maintenance; it's about creation. You will design, implement, and lead the financial systems, controls, and strategy that power multi-state growth. You'll partner directly with the CEO and executive team to scale our operations with discipline, transparency, and speed. You'll be the architect behind a sophisticated, data-driven finance organization capable of supporting aggressive national expansion.
Not just a manager, but a builder - comfortable creating structure where none exists yet (processes, KPIs, controls, and dashboards)

Responsibilities:

  • Lead financial planning and analysis (FP&A), budgeting, and cash-flow forecasting across multiple entities.
  • Build scalable financial systems, reporting frameworks, and operational dashboards.
  • Manage multi-state accounting, audits, tax strategy, compliance, and insurance.
  • Oversee capital structure, banking relationships, and debt/equity strategy.
  • Provide strategic insight to the CEO and leadership team through scenario modeling and performance analysis.
  • Recruit, mentor, and elevate a growing finance and accounting team.
  • Develop and execute long-term financial strategies that align with the firm's growth goals, practice group profitability.
  • Revenue forecasting and cash flow management.
  • Develop KPIs, dashboards, and analytics to guide firm leadership and practice group leaders.
  • Build financial systems and processes that can scale quickly as the firm expands.
  • Work closely with managing partners and practice leads, translating numbers into clear business insights.
Qualifications:
  • 10+ years in senior finance or CFO roles within growth-stage or multi-entity companies.
  • Experience leading through scale, system implementation, and rapid expansion.
  • Proven success in building and leading data-driven financial operations.
  • Strong understanding of M&A, debt structuring, and cross-border finance.
  • CPA, CFA, or MBA preferred but not required -- track record of execution is essential.
  • Exceptional communication, strategic judgment, and leadership presence.
  • High ethical standards and understanding of fiduciary responsibilities in client trust and escrow accounting.
