We are experiencing significant growth through strategic acquisitions and organic expansion, with multiple M&A targets in our pipeline. As we scale our operations, we need a strategic financial leader to drive our next phase of growth.

Position Overview:



We are seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer to join our executive leadership team. This is a high-impact role for a hands-on financial strategist who thrives in a fast-paced, acquisitive environment. You will be instrumental in executing our growth strategy, leading M&A integration, optimizing cash flow, and securing financing for future acquisitions. This position reports directly to the CEO and will be a key partner in driving the company's strategic vision.

Key Responsibilities:



Mergers & Acquisitions

- Lead financial due diligence for acquisition targets in the pipeline

- Structure acquisition financing and negotiate optimal terms with lenders and financial institutions

- Develop integration plans to ensure seamless post-acquisition transitions

- Create financial models and valuations for potential acquisition targets

- Manage relationships with investment banks, private equity firms, and other capital sources

Financial Planning & Analysis

- Develop accurate financial projections and forecasts to support strategic decision-making

- Create and maintain comprehensive financial models for business planning and scenario analysis

- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for stakeholders

- Establish KPIs and financial metrics to measure operational performance across all business units

Cash Flow Management & Cost Optimization

- Work closely with operations and management to continuously monitor cash outflows and identify cost-reduction opportunities

- Implement strategies to improve cash inflows and optimize working capital

- Develop and enforce budget controls across the organization

- Identify operational inefficiencies and drive margin improvement initiatives

Banking & Capital Management

- Serve as primary liaison with banks, lenders, and financial institutions

- Negotiate credit facilities, loan agreements, and financing terms

- Secure optimal funding structures for acquisition financing and growth capital

- Manage banking relationships with institutions and other commercial lenders

- Ensure compliance with loan covenants and reporting requirements

Accounting & Compliance

- Oversee all accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls

- Ensure compliance with Canadian and US GAAP, tax regulations, and environmental industry requirements

- Manage relationships with external auditors and tax advisors

- Implement financial systems and processes to support scaling operations

Leadership & Team Development

- Build and lead a high-performing finance team as the organization grows

- Partner with CEO and executive team on strategic initiatives

- Provide financial insights to drive business decisions across all departments

Required Qualifications:

- CPA designation (CA, CGA, or CMA) required. CFA preferred not required

- Minimum 10 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 3 years in senior leadership roles

- Proven track record leading M&A transactions from due diligence through integration

- Strong experience in acquisition financing, debt structuring, and capital raising

- Demonstrated success optimizing cash flow and driving profitability improvements

- Experience in manufacturing, environmental services, waste management, or industrial sectors strongly preferred

- Deep understanding of financial modeling, valuations, and deal structuring

- Established relationships with Canadian & US commercial lenders and financial institutions

Preferred Qualifications:



- MBA or relevant graduate degree

- Knowledge of environmental regulatory compliance and waste management industry economics

- Track record working in private equity-backed or high-growth entrepreneurial environments

- Experience with ERP implementations and financial systems optimization
