Hours of Work: Full-time, Monday to Friday, consulted as needed evenings/weekends



Annual Rate & Benefits: $125 000 +, Health & Dental Benefits, GRSP Matching Prgm

Brain Injury Community Re-entry (Niagara) Inc. (BICR) is a non-profit organization that provides support services and rehabilitation to individuals living with the effects of an acquired brain injury in the Niagara Region. Our vision is to lead in the field of acquired brain injury rehabilitation, providing advocacy for successful re-entry into the community.

Our mission is to

provide support and leadership to individuals, their families and/or caregivers within the Niagara Region living with the effects of an acquired brain injury. We promote self-direction, facilitate opportunities for meaningful adaptation, and contribute to the development of the agency and its people. We participate in advancements in the field of rehabilitation, and participate in partnerships that foster ongoing dialogue with the individual and their support network. We have been accredited by Accreditation Canada since 1997 and have been awarded Accreditation with Exemplary Standing for 2021 - 2025.

POSITION SUMMARY



Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is responsible for the operations management, program development, and service coordination for the Agency. The CEO is accountable for the overall planning, leadership, management, and results of BICR, and promotes the organization's mission, strategic goals, and outcomes to internal and external stakeholders in the broader community. The CEO ensures that the organization operates in alignment with all legislative and regulatory requirements and accreditation standards, maintaining quality of care and quality of life for participants within all programming.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & LICENSING REQUIREMENTS



A University Degree and pursuit of a Master's Degree in a related field - health administration, human services, management. Minimum of ten years' experience in the field of social services/health services. Minimum of five year's management experience including policy development, strategic planning, project management and personnel management. In-depth understanding of the industry including risk management, compliance, and regulatory requirements. In-depth understanding of accounting principles including budgeting, balance sheets, income statements, cash flow, and capital planning management. Willing to obtain a Vulnerable Police Sector Check specific to BICR.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS



Proficient interpersonal, analytical and leadership skills. Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated strong solution focused problem solving & dispute resolution skills. Extensive understanding of human resources and employee management. Political acuity and ability to adapt to political changes. High level of organizational and time management skills. A strong understanding of emerging trends and advancement in Acquired Brain Injury. Adept with all Microsoft Office Applications. Periodic travel throughout the Niagara Region required.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES



Board Accountabilities

Ensures continual support to the Board of Directors and the organization by co-operating and contracting with external accountants, auditors, financial institutions, funding bodies and consultants, thereby recommending changes in financial operations, developing financial and risk management policies, and modifying financial operations if there are changes in capital expenditures and investments. Responsible to propose new policies and directions for the Agency and provide accurate and timely information to the Board on internal and external developments which might adversely impact on future operations. Responsible to the Board for taking such action as considered necessary to ensure compliance with the Corporations Act, the Regulations and By-Laws of the Agency and all other statutory and regulatory requirements.
Management Accountabilities

Oversee daily operations of the Agency and providing executive direction to ensure appropriate systems, structures and resources are in place for the effective management and control of all human resources and programming. Provide leadership to the management team on all matters of the Agency. Responsible to direct and monitor development of program procedures: admissions, program process, safety, medication, communication, participant and administrative procedures with third party funders, program procedures, case review, etc. Responsible to work with Ministry of Health personnel to ensure programs comply with legislation, provincial guidelines and their goals for Acquired Brain Injury service providers. Develop, recommend, deliver and foster the values, culture and philosophy of the Agency, and ensure accountability of all staff for fulfilling the mission and strategic plan of the Agency. Provide leadership in support of the Board's responsibility to develop and periodically review the mission, objectives and strategic plan of the Agency.
Community Accountabilities

Develop strategic partnerships and relationships, including representing the Agency at community and government events, on various working groups, liaising with other similar organizations/agencies and community partners, and participating on the Ontario Directors Network of community-based programs for adults with acquired brain injury. Problem-solve with families and community partners to ensure the Agency maintains a high level of integrity and support. Maintain currency on external developments that may affect the Agency's operations and report on these developments as necessary.
