Summary

The role as Chief Engineer at Freeman Lumber in Greenfield NS is vital to maintaining our standards of quality, safety, and operational efficiency. You will lead our engineering team, oversee maintenance and facility management, and ensure our production processes run smoothly.

Responsibilities

Ensuring application of Safety standards for production and company operations. Lead and manage the engineering team to ensure optimal performance. Oversee maintenance operations. Coordinating the work of crews to ensure both maintenance, production and quality targets are met. Providing strong leadership skills with an ability to collaborate and build good working relationships across multiple departments. Supervision of the daily operation and maintenance of 2 boilers and 14 kilns on site. Complete daily required paperwork.

Qualifications/Experience

Promote and demonstrate constant safety behavior. Ensure compliance of safe work practices and health and safety policies and procedures. Demonstrated leadership skills. Ability to multi-task while working under pressure. Team player. Computer skills including Microsoft Office Programs. Work with minimal supervision. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Analytical and problem solving skills with a mechanical aptitude. Good organization and decision-making skills. 3rd Class Power Engineer Certification is required. 5+ Years of Experience.

Pay: $38.00-$40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 45 - 50 per week
