As a member of SaskPower\xe2\x80\x99s management team, this position is responsible for the effective utilization of people, material, financial resources and human capital in order to manage, coordinate and lead major projects/departmental work functions from start to finish; ensuring alignment with departmental and corporate strategic goals and objectives.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Provide leadership and direction to project personnel, including SaskPower and contract employees on project(s) and major business initiatives
  • Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate projects from start to finish according to schedule, specifications and budget
  • Prepare and submit project budget estimates and tender evaluations in alignment with departmental strategic plans and forecasting initiatives
  • Plan and prepare schedules and milestones and monitor progress against established schedules
  • Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors
  • Develop and implement quality control programs
  • Assess, develop and implement new technologies, standards, processes and methodologies
  • Represent company on matters both internal and external to the corporation
  • Prepare progress reports and issue progress schedules to clients, senior management and executive
  • Other related duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
  • First Class Power Engineer\xe2\x80\x99s Certificate;
  • Related professional designation(s) and/or certification(s) AND/OR;
  • Seven (7) years of related Power Engineer experience in a power generation facility
  • Ability to strategize, plan and organize
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
  • Results oriented thinker, with the ability to influence and manage complex and confidential issues with sensitivity and professionalism
  • Ability to meet deadlines and deals with quick turnaround
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
  • Ability to foster a culture focused on safety, innovation and teamwork
  • Demonstrated skill in SaskPower\xe2\x80\x99s competencies
  • Must have a continuing record of professional development
