About the Opportunity
Under the supervision of the Manager, Biomedical Engineering, the Chief Biomedical Engineering Technologist provides support for medical technology by repairing, maintaining and calibrating life support and other medical devices, as well as maintaining medical computers and networks.
Furthermore, the Chief Biomedical Engineering Technologist is responsible for oversight of day to day operations of one of the Biomedical Engineering shops. This includes providing technical support and mentorship to other technologists working in the shop, tracking service requests and ensuring they are being processed in a timely manner, and coordinating the shop\'s efforts in meeting preventive maintenance completion targets.
The Chief Biomedical Engineering Technologist also actively participates in the department\'s continuous improvement efforts. This includes identifying, implementing and facilitating new initiatives to improve quality and efficiency within the department. The Chief Biomedical Engineering Technologist will also help standardize practices in their shop with the other Biomedical Engineering departments within Nova Scotia Health.
