Job Description


The responsibility of this role is to perform analyses while respecting the ISO17025 Standard and the RGU Quality policy to ensure reliable results in a timely manner.

What are we looking for?

1. Education and Professional Qualification

  • Degree or diploma in a science-based program or equivalent level of experience (\xe2\x89\xa5 4 years of work experience in ISO 17025 accredited field)
2. Knowledge/Experience
  • Experience with laboratory techniques and ensuring the validity of analytical results (Critical)
  • 2 years of work experience in science-based laboratory setting or successful completion of RGU Laboratory Analyst Coop term
  • Able to work under pressure, manage and adapt to unexpected situations.
  • Knowledge of food safety and nutrition is an asset.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills required.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency required (Excel as priority)
  • Ability to lift up to 30-50 lb. and to stand for an extended period of time.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of laboratory quality, safety, chemicals management and lean initiatives.
  • Knowledge and working experience of laboratory methods.
  • Knowledge and working experience and troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation.
What will be your key responsibilities?

Participate in the reliability and timeliness of results: -
  • Carry out the analysis according to the RGU quality procedures
  • Produce accurate and reliable results in accordance with the pre-set time to satisfy our customers.
  • Enter and validate analytical results.
  • Technical knowledge and expertise in the use and application of specialized analytical instrumentation.
  • Specific instrumentation includes, but not limited to Leco Protein Analyzers, Fat Extractors, Auto Titrators, HPLC, GC etc.
  • Keep equipment in optimum operating condition.
  • Monitor control charts and implement appropriate actions with the responsible CHEMISTRY OPERATION MANAGER, QMP & SAFETY Coordinator
  • Participate in implementing test methods validated by COE.
Contribute to the organization and evolution of the laboratory:
  • Train analysts on technical analysis and validation of result
  • Participate in inventory management of reagents and consumables
  • Understanding and consulting the applicable SDS for analyses performed
  • Maintain housekeeping and 5S of all laboratory and common areas
  • Follow waste management system protocol.
  • Process ownership as assigned.
Participate in maintaining and improving the quality system:
  • Participate in the drafting, updating, and improvement of the quality system documents.
  • Participate in the management of non-conformities / corrective and preventive actions.
Other:
  • Follow quality, health and safety, and environmental requirements of the lab and site.
  • Work as a team player, including open and honest communication.
  • Respect the Mars 5 Principles and the Ethics and Compliance at Mars policy (i.e., conflicts of interest and confidentiality)
  • Other duties as assigned by Line Manager
