We value our employees, and their passion, innovation and creativity is the engine driving the growth of the company JOB SUMMARY: Axios is looking for a self-motivated, multitasking and dedicated organic chemist who would be responsible for strategic sourcing. The CHEMICAL PROCUREMENT ASSOCIATE will interact with vendors globally through negotiation, purchasing and tracking of purchase orders. He/She will be an integral part of the team that ensures the timely delivery of products to our customers. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • The successful candidate will perform the following functions.
  • Discuss with R&D and the scientific team to identify projects for outsourcing.
  • Coordinate with various sites and work with the scientists to plan the synthesis/procurement of required product.
  • Monitor the synthesis projects and provide updates to the customer service team with updated delivery times.
  • Provide suggestions to the vendor for the synthesis after discussion with the R&D team.
  • Approve the analytical data of the product upon consulting with QC team.
  • Identify sources for raw materials and new products.
  • Research suppliers to determine the best fit for company pricing, and quality objectives.
  • Negotiate with the suppliers.
  • Issue Purchase orders
  • Enter sourcing information into SAP.
  • Track vendor orders and work with the Lab to ensure products are delivered to the customers on time.
  • Regularly manage and maintain the inventory by investigating any variances, product retesting, and required stock replenishment.
  • Accurately weigh the samples for dispatch in milligram and gram quantities.
  • The candidate will be able to operate as part of a team and collaborate effectively across all functions.
  • Follow company operating procedures.
  • Work on several different projects in tandem.
  • Follow all company safety protocols.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree or bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s with 2 years\xe2\x80\x99 work experience related to use of chemistry knowledge is mandatory.
  • Have a good theoretical knowledge of synthetic organic chemistry.
  • Should be able to weigh pharma related chemicals in mg to g quantities.
  • A strong passion and commitment to the job.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication skills and positive interpersonal skills are required.
  • Ability to search chemical literature with SciFinder.
  • Prior working experience of SAP ERP system is preferred but not mandatory.
