Description

Some of the duties a successful candidate will be responsible for are:

  • Operates monitors and controls chemical reactors and associated equipment to produce a variety of specialty chemicals.
  • Uses ISO procedures detailing formula additions and other parameters such as temperature, pressure, flow rates, and viscosity.
  • Performs other related functions such as material handling, preparing equipment for production, and raw material additions.
  • Prepares packages for shipment, ensuring all TDG requirements are met.
  • Performs administrative duties such as entering raw material consumption into SAP system.
  • Operates, and participates in the safety and environmental activities in the production area
  • Performs Responsible Care duties that include following the various EHS&S policies, procedures and programs of the company
  • Monitor finished and raw materials inventory to ascertain production capability.
  • Monitors and controls cooling water, tempered water, hot raw materials, demineralizer, wastewater, nitrogen, instrument air, etc.
  • Required to do some level of in-process or final testing to ascertain batch quality and/or batch additions.
  • Prepares reusable packages for filling by cleaning and checking valves, covers, lanyards, etc. as well as TDG testing.
  • Maintains safe, secure and clean work environment.
  • When operating in the shipping and receiving area the operator is responsible for the physical receiving and shipping of raw materials and finished goods and proper paperwork completion.
  • Performs SAP receiving, picking and loading of material for shipment, and product storage.
  • Performs Bulk unloading/loading, as well as POF/Custom Bulk cleaning, loading and sampling.

Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma is required.
  • 3 years work experience in a chemical manufacturing environment preferred
  • Strong knowledge of production department
  • Knowledge of safety requirements and practices and Hazard Communication
  • Previous Forklift or Chemical Manufacturing experience
  • Strong math skills with experience measuring volume and weight, calculating units of measurement, and using fractions and percentages
  • Physically able to wear a respirator, climb stairs, operate valves, and lift 50 lbs
  • Basic computer skills
  • Certification in Safety
