The Tailings facilities at Albian Sands are world class. This hands-on opportunity offers valuable process engineering experience supporting various groups in one of the world's largest Oil Sands operations. Get ready to dive into tailings processes like fluid transfer, over pressure protection, deposition, hydraulics, relief system calculations, and developing strategies to enhance operations in the field. Job location:
Calgary, AB - Head Office with occasional site visits as required
Shift schedule:
5 days on, 2 days off, 8 hours/day (Monday - Friday)

Key Accountabilities:
Support calculations on subjects like hydraulic calculations including slurry hydraulics, relief system calculations
Participate in developing and executing strategies to improve operations in the field and lab to treat tailings which may include pilot development and execution
Review and mark up process documents including Piping and Instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), process flow diagrams (PFDs) and Line Designation Tables (LDTs)
Support preparation of scopes of work to collect data on existing tailings processes
Apply engineering principles to assess, solve and design tailings solutions
What You Bring to The Role:
Currently enrolled in bachelor's degree program in Chemical engineering (Specializing in process engineering is considered an asset)
Interest in Tailings operations
Experience with general process simulators i.e., AFT Fathom hydraulic simulators for liquids & slurries, or equivalent
Familiarity or work with hydraulics of settling slurries and Bingham fluids
Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
Possess a valid Class 5 Alberta driver's license or equivalent out of province license with a reasonably clean driver abstract
A pre-employment drug screening test must be successfully completed
