About You





Summit Nanotech is seeking a Chemical Engineering Intern to support research, testing, and process development activities at our Calgary site. You will be part of a collaborative, cross-functional team working alongside our scientists and engineers to advance our lithium extraction technology. You are someone who is curious, detail-oriented, and eager to apply your academic knowledge to real-world challenges. Success in this role requires flexibility, strong analytical and communication skills, and a proactive approach to learning and problem-solving in a dynamic lab and pilot environment.



The role



As a Chemistry/Chemical Engineering Intern at Summit Nanotech, you will have the opportunity to engage in laboratory research and help develop chemical processes that support sustainable energy solutions. This role will involve both hands-on lab work and theoretical analysis to optimise Summit's technologies.

Duties & Responsibilities

Conduct work under the supervision of a Chemical engineer Perform bench-scale experiments and generate high quality data for analysis. Help develop and refine chemical processes for various projects. Support the preparation of lab reports, safety protocols, and documentation. Collaborate with the team, conduct literature reviews, and summarise research findings to support ongoing projects. Maintain and organise laboratory equipment and materials. Ensure adherence to a high level of safety standards and best practices.


Skills and Qualities


Enrolled in Chemistry or a related program. Completion of at minimum 2nd year course work would be preferable. Strong understanding of chemistry principles, lab practices, and safety protocols. Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
