Position Summary

Reporting to the Eastern Regional Manager, the Check-In Agent is responsible for ensuring positive, friendly and prompt customer service to all customers/ passengers visiting check-in counter as well as for handling and screening cargo including Dangerous Goods, and following procedures and policies when providing customer service. The Check-In Agent participates in all assigned training, setting and meeting personal goals. The Check-In Agent understands their role as customer service ambassador and provides a positive customer service experience to all customers.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Provide friendly, positive and prompt customer service Assist customers/passengers at check-in counter by following policies and procedures as they relate to customer service, e.g. monitoring carry-on baggage, issuing boarding passes and appropriate baggage handling Screen and process cargo shipments, including Dangerous Goods, while adhering to terms and regulations as set out in TC regulations and Company policy Verify and complete all necessary requirements for inbound freight, entering airway bills and verifying manifest Participate in the creation of personal development plans and setting of sales and service goals/targets, and attend required/recommended training to support ongoing self-development Provide and support optimal levels of customer sales and service by being cognizant of yourself and peers with the coordination and scheduling of day-to-day duties/tasks and breaks/lunch assigned by Supervisor and/or Manager Demonstrate understanding and knowledge of department customer service policies and procedures as they relate to internal control and risk, and ensure that they are applied on a consistent and ongoing basis (e.g. handling cash/electronic payments and daily sales reports) Actively participate in the Company's Safety Management System Perform additional duties as assigned

Minimum Education, Experience and Certifications

High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalent Must be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations Previous customer service experience considered an asset Previous aviation/airline experience considered an asset Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word) Indigenous and Cultural Awareness Training considered an asset

Working Conditions

Physically able to perform all listed job duties Travel by aircraft and other means as required by role Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and telephone Work performed both indoors and outdoors; employee must be able to adapt to all outdoor weather conditions Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs Various shifts at a fast pace in order to meet service level requirements of the airline
