With the anticipation of opening a new building in March 2026, we are searching for a

Chauffeur

to join our Shannex Transitional Health Services Limited team providing transitional care services at

West Bedford Transitional Health

in West Bedford, Nova Scotia.


Through an innovative partnership with Nova Scotia Health (NSH), Shannex proudly operates the province's first transitional health facility in West Bedford. This facility provides specialized care for NSH patients in the central zone who no longer require hospital care but need additional support and services before safely returning home or to their community.


Reporting to Building and Support Services Manager, the Chauffer provides transportation and exceptional service to patients.

About the Opportunity




Transport patients to appointments or outings as per the transportation schedule Transporting new patients to the facility from another facility or community. Assist patients with unloading packages and opening doors. Ensure patients are not kept waiting. Demonstrates an understanding of the importance of respecting patient's rights, including respecting others, maintaining confidentiality, promoting independence, respecting privacy, respecting the right to refuse services and involvement. Communicate with the Health Services Department if there is a noted change in the medical status of the resident e.g., increased confusion Aid patients as required with: entering and exiting the vehicle, mobility aides/devices e.g. canes, walkers; carrying parcels or other items, opening doors and entering buildings Maintain vehicles in peak operating condition and carry out all prescribed routine maintenance functions while maintaining accurate maintenance log records Schedule regular mechanical tune-up with authorized service shop Ensures all patients travelling in any company vehicle are safely belted and comply with the organizational safety policies. Utilizes vehicle and equipment in a responsible way e.g. adheres to traffic rules and laws. Operates vehicle with due care to ensure timely, safe, and consistent delivery. About You

A high-school diploma or equivalent education A clean driving record with a Class 4 Driver's license Ability to provide a clear Driver's abstract Ability to provide a clear criminal record and vulnerable sector check upon hire Knowledge of the federal, provincial and municipal safety and traffic laws and regulations; Superior customer service skills; Strong patient focus and a positive attitude; Demonstrated ability to interact positively with others;
