Position: Chase Producer, CTV News Channel
Location: 9 Channel Nine Court, Scarborough, Ontario
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week. Overtime as required

Description:
CTV News Channel is looking for a driven and dynamic Chase Producer for its 24-hour news network. The qualified candidate is passionate about news, Canadian politics and breaking news. We are looking for someone to join our team who is excited about delivering the news in a fast-paced, multi-platform news environment. CTV News Channel is leading the charge in delivering breaking news and informing Canadians about what matters to them.

Responsibilities:

• Generating and pitching interesting and original story ideas that resonate with CTV News Channel viewers
• Booking interviews with newsmakers, experts for breaking news, continuing coverage and features.
• Organize and plan coverage of major news events and breaking news
• Help distribute assignments to other chase producers and review scripts
• Writing scripts and adding production (video, pictures and graphics) to complement each interview
• Other duties as assigned
• Work as part of a team
• Ability to work in the office

Qualifications:

• Experience covering breaking news
• Proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• In-depth knowledge of political, domestic, international news and current affairs
• Excellent organizational skills
• Strong chasing skills are essential for this position
• Experience in producing live and recorded programming
• Proficient in iNews
• Proficient in Social Media
• Exceptional communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to originate coverage on developing stories
• Experience selecting video to compliment interviews and story telling
