We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP, and will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This role requires proficiency in various accounting software and a commitment to accuracy in financial reporting.
Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Conduct account reconciliations, including balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger reconciliation.
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure timely payments and collections.
Perform financial report writing and interpretation to provide insights into financial performance.
Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis to support strategic decision-makin
Provide technical accounting support for non-profit accounting, governmental accounting, and corporate finance matters.
Mentor junior staff members in accounting practices and software usage.
Conduct audits as necessary to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal policies.
Utilize various accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, and Microsoft Excel for efficient financial management.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required; CPA or equivalent certification is preferred.
Proven experience in public accounting or corporate accounting roles.
Strong knowledge of financial concepts including accrual accounting, double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and financial management.
Familiarity with private equity transactions is a plus.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to perform financial analysis and account analysis effectively.
Proficiency in payroll processing and tax experience is desirable.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
