Job Posting: Charge Nurse - Associate Director of Care (RPN)
Job Type: Full-Time
Hours : 7:30am - 7:30pm (12-hour shifts) Every other weekend.
Reports to: Director of Care

We are currently seeking a compassionate, organized, and experienced Charge Nurse, Associate Director of Care to join our leadership team. Reporting directly to the Director of Care, the ADOC is a key member of the management team, responsible for supporting day-to-day operations, team leadership, staff education, and ensuring the highest quality of care for our residents.
This is a dynamic and rewarding leadership role for a nursing professional who is passionate about team development, resident advocacy, and continuous quality improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Support
Lead, support, and mentor a team of dedicated nursing professionals.
Be available to nursing staff for consultation, problem-solving, and guidance.
Foster a collaborative environment through regular nursing meetings and open communication.
Encourage team building and promote a culture of care, respect, and professional growth.
Working with the recreation team in providing support to the recreation department.
Resident Care & Advocacy
Act as a resident advocate, ensuring their needs and rights are always prioritized.
Oversee development and utilization of comprehensive Nursing Care Profiles.
Ensure resident assessments and reassessments are completed accurately and timely.
Work with the Nurse practitioner on weekly rounds, doctor orders
Operations & Quality Management
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, and procedures.
Develop, implement, and maintain Quality Management and IPAC (Infection Prevention and Control) programs.
Conduct and oversee various audits (e.g., medication, hand hygiene, PPE, falls) and monthly/annual reviews.
Monitor and improve medication administration processes among PSW/HCA/Attendant staff.
Coordinate and participate in resident Care Conferences.
Supervising Call in sick coverage & process
Education & Development
Design and implement in-service education programs based on staff needs.
Oversee orientation of new nursing staff.
Support continuous education and professional development for PSWs and RPNs.
Operational Expectations
Available for emergency situations and to fill uncovered shifts if necessary.
Actively participate in daily, weekly, and monthly team meetings.
Ensure high standards of cleanliness, safety, and maintenance are upheld throughout the residence.
Qualifications
Current RPN designation in good standing with the College of Nursing in Ontario
Minimum of 3-5 years of nursing experience.
Strong knowledge of nursing processes, quality management systems, and infection control protocols.
Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and motivate staff in a healthcare setting.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
Experience with PCC (PointClickCare) & Yardi or other electronic health record systems is an asset.

Pay: $28.00-$30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 75 per week
