Your Opportunity





The primary responsibilities of this position include:


Contribute to a safe and successful guest experience at Kelso's Challenge Course, which includes an Archery Range, Aerial Ropes Course, and Climbing Tower. Ensure safe operation of the course by conducting daily and weekly maintenance, routine inspections as required, cleaning equipment and participant gear Assist with administrative tasks such as staff scheduling and ordering program supplies Support with staff training and on-going mentorship of the staff team throughout the season Contribute to the long-term improvement and development of the CH Challenge Course by working with Supervisors and Coordinator, Recreation Programs on program content updates, program development, staff training, etc. Work in accordance with the Conservation Halton's Safety Policies & Procedures and the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and all other related manuals. Other duties as assigned

Your Qualifications




Certification and/or training as a Challenge Course Facilitator Previous experience working with Ropes or Challenge Courses is an asset Previous experience with providing education/supervision to children is an asset Strong creativity, leadership, and collaboration skills required to support Challenge Course staff. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer service mindset and the ability to enforce policies and procedures in a professional manner Enrollment in or completion of a College or University program relating to recreation, teaching, sport, or similar is an asset Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes day, afternoon/evening shifts, weekends and holidays Able to lift up to 40 pounds, stand, and walk for long periods of time Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions, on varied terrain A valid Ontario Drivers Licence, minimum Class "G2", with a satisfactory Driver's Abstract is required. Abstract completed by Conservation Halton.
Successful candidates are required to provide a Vulnerable Sector Check (VSS), to verify the absence of a criminal record for which a pardon has not been granted (if over 18 years old). Cost covered by Conservation Halton up to $30.00.
Successful candidates will be required to have Standard First Aid and CPR certification prior to first day of employment CH parks are not accessible by public transit; candidates should ensure they have reliable transportation.
