DescriptionLocated in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, the at the invites applications for appointment as the academic Chair of theThe University of Alberta (UofA) Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry (FoMD) invites applications for Chair of the Department of Pediatrics from current tenured UofA academic faculty with a PhD or MD, and external candidates with an MD (may have additional degrees) who are able to provide clinical care in a manner that meets the expectations of both the University and . The Chair will work collaboratively to achieve the facultys mission to improve the health and health care of current and future generations through excellence and innovation in education, research, and clinical care.The FoMD, within the College of Health Sciences, at the University of Alberta, located in Edmonton, Alberta, is internationally recognized as a top medical school. The Department of Pediatrics is one of Canadas leading academic health centres for pediatric specialty and subspecialty education and research. The Department works in close partnership with the Women and Childrens Health Research Institute (WCHRI) to lead cutting-edge research and with Alberta Health Services Stollery Childrens Hospital to provide exceptional clinical care.The successful candidate will be a visionary and strategic leader who inspires excellence and engages departmental members and partners in effective collaboration. They will have outstanding interpersonal skills and show evidence of building, managing and maintaining high-quality and productive relationships across diverse groups of individuals. They will have a personal record of academic accomplishment, demonstrating creativity and innovative ideas to meet the opportunities of academic, research and clinical service leadership in an integrated health region.Applicants with an MD will hold certification in pediatrics from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (or an equivalent) and be eligible for licensure as a specialist in pediatrics in the Province of Alberta. The successful candidate will be offered a tenured appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Full Professor. Salary will be commensurate with education, experience, and academic productivity. Total remuneration for an MD in this position is based on the Academic Medicine & Health Services Program (AMHSP).Interested candidates should submit:
