Position Summary:
We are seeking a designated CPA Accountant to manage and enhance the financial operations of our growing organization. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of Canadian accounting standards, tax laws, and compliance requirements. This role is vital to supporting our consulting practices with accurate financial reporting and analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with ASPE or IFRS as applicable
Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes
Lead budgeting and forecasting activities, including variance analysis and reporting
Ensure full compliance with Canadian accounting standards and federal/provincial tax regulations
Coordinate and support annual audits and liaise with external auditors
Oversee payroll, accounts payable, receivable, and other transactional accounting functions
Collaborate with consultants to track project costs and provide financial insights for proposals and ongoing projects
Prepare and file GST/HST, payroll remittances, and year-end tax filings
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial reporting and controls
Qualifications:
Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation in good standing (CPA Ontario, CPA Alberta, etc.)
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a Master's degree is an asset
Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within a consulting, professional services, or project-based environment
Strong knowledge of Canadian GAAP, ASPE, and/or IFRS
Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero, and advanced Excel skills
Experience with government compliance, corporate tax filings, and audit preparation in Canada
Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to support cross-functional collaboration

Pay: $60,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
