The ProActive Centre is Hiring: Full-Time Personal Trainer

The ProActive Centre is growing, and we're looking for an experienced Certified Exercise Physiologist or Personal Trainer to join our Health Team full-time. This role is focused on delivering high-quality personal training services to our clients. Experience working with clients over 40, women's health, or holding additional certifications (nutrition, PTA, etc.) is a strong asset. The ability to lead group fitness classes is also a bonus. While the main focus of this role is training, the position may also include front desk or administrative work, such as assisting with bookings, phone calls, or payments, to help keep the centre running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities: Deliver safe, effective, and engaging personal training sessions (1:1 and small group). Provide a supportive, motivating, and educational experience for all clients. Collaborate with other health professionals within the ProActive Centre. Stay up to date with certifications, continuing education, and industry standards. Contribute to a

positive, professional, and community-focused environment.



What We're Looking For: We're seeking a friendly, knowledgeable team player who is passionate about helping people improve their health and fitness.

Required:

Accredited personal training certification

(CSCS, CSEP, Can-Fit-Pro, CPTN, etc.) Minimum 1-2 years of personal training experience in a fitness or health setting. CPR/First Aid & AED certification. Insurance coverage and commitment to continuing education requirements.

Assets: Degree/diploma in Kinesiology, Fitness & Health, or Physical Education. Specializations in women's health, sport-specific training, or nutrition. PTA experience.

Group fitness instructor certificate or experience Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Experience working in a private fitness facility. Comfort with basic administrative tasks and client interactions at the front desk. Computer and social media literacy. Flexible to work daytime, evenings and weekends. Features of the Position: Personal Training is paid at a commensurate hourly rate Flexible hours/week, up to 35/40 hours per week. Shifts may vary up to 3-4x/year to allow for changes in lifestyle and preferences Complimentary parking and use of fitness facilities. All staff must be able to follow Public Health & Safety guidelines, including those set out by our Regulatory College. Must be able to work on-site in St. Catharines, Niagara. Position start date: Fall 2025.
