About the Role



Dental Specialists Group is seeking a

skilled and detail-oriented Level II Dental Assistant

to join our specialty prosthodontic team in Mississauga.
This is a permanent, full-time position ideal for someone who thrives in a professional, high-standard clinical environment and has prior experience assisting a

dental specialist

--particularly in prosthodontics, implant dentistry, or advanced restorative care.

You'll be part of a collaborative team dedicated to complex restorative cases, smile rehabilitations, and digital dentistry. The ideal candidate will demonstrate initiative, excellent patient communication, and a passion for precision.

Responsibilities



Chairside Assistance



Assist the prosthodontist during all clinical procedures including crowns, bridges, veneers, dentures, implant surgeries, digital impressions, and complex restorative treatments. Anticipate clinical needs during appointments to ensure smooth workflow and efficient treatment delivery. Prepare and manage dental materials such as cements, impression materials, composite, and provisional materials. Operate and maintain

intraoral scanners (IOS)

for digital impressions, ensuring accuracy, cleanliness, and proper file management. Capture clinical photographs and assist in digital documentation and 3D workflows. Maintain proper infection control protocols, operatory setup, and adherence to RCDSO and IPAC standards.

Clinical Preparation & Maintenance



Set up and disinfect operatories for each procedure, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared. Perform equipment sterilization, cleaning, and maintenance according to office protocols. Track inventory, manage supply ordering, and monitor expiry dates for all clinical materials. Conduct daily and weekly maintenance on dental and sterilization equipment.

Patient Care & Communication



Welcome patients warmly and prepare them for treatment with clear communication and reassurance. Provide pre- and post-operative instructions under dentist supervision, ensuring patient comfort and understanding. Support patients in understanding treatment phases, prosthodontic timelines, and recall schedules. Accurately update and maintain patient records within the practice management software (e.g., Dentrix, Tracker, or equivalent).

Digital & Laboratory Coordination



Coordinate lab cases, including impression handling, shipping, and tracking. Prepare detailed lab prescriptions and communicate directly with laboratories regarding case specifications and timelines. Support shade matching, try-ins, and prosthesis delivery appointments. Manage digital case submissions through intraoral scan files and 3D print workflows.

Team & Administrative Support



Collaborate closely with specialists, hygienists, and administrative staff to ensure seamless patient care. Participate in internal training and calibration sessions focused on prosthodontics and digital dentistry. Maintain a positive, professional, and team-oriented environment.

Qualifications



Certified Level II Dental Assistant (required)

HARP Certification (required)

Minimum

2 years of clinical experience

, preferably in a

prosthodontic, implant, or specialty dental setting

Strong knowledge of implant components, digital scanning, and restorative workflows Proficiency in dental software such as Dentrix, Tracker, or equivalent Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Professional, dependable, and patient-focused
