Position Details



Reporting to the Program Coordinator and Program Manager - BGC Airdrie Club, the Certified Level 1 ECE (or higher) will aid the Program Lead in providing and facilitating licensed after school childcare during all school days.

These programs focus on social, recreational, and educational programming as well as promote self-esteem enhancement for children grades 1-4, at Nose Creek Elementary School.

They may also be responsible for supporting the engagement of program volunteers, facilitating program group games, crafts projects, and more, as well as daily program cleaning and sanitation.

Key Responsibilities



Supporting the Level 2 or 3 in the following ways;



? Planning & organizing daily programming with the support of the Level 2 or 3 .

? Facilitation of social recreational and educational programs for children grades 1-4, focusing on social skill development and individual self-esteem enhancement.

? Volunteer management such as youth volunteers, or practicum students.

? Daily facilities management including cleaning and ensuring facility health and safety.

? Ensures all areas of programming adheres to Licensing Standards as directed by Alberta Health Services.

? Ensures all areas of programming adheres to the revised Licensing Program Plan.

? Able to support the daily needs of children in a fast-paced, engaging childcare environment.

? Ability to create supportive and engaging relationships with parents and guardians.

? Ability to positively engage in a welcoming team environment with a clear understanding of BGC Airdrie policies and procedures.

? Punctuality, and consistent program attendance, as it is vital to the success of your role and building relationships with the participants.

Skills



? Must be 18 years of age or older

? Certified Level 1 ECE as per Alberta Child Care Certification

or willing to obtain within 6 months of employment.



? Knowledge of SEL Model, Trauma Informed Child Care, and Working in Teams is an asset, but training will be provided.

? Previous experience working with children in an after-school or child are setting.

? Excellent communication and organizational skills.

? Able to work as part of a team and model confidence during times of independence.

? Certified in First Aid (Level B or C) or ability to obtain it within 1 month of your employment.

? Ability to provide RCMP Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector, Child Intervention Check

Hours of Work

This is a 20 hour per week position, based on Rocky View School Division operational days and will be based on a combination of direct childcare hours and staff meeting hours too.

Note Additional hours may be available to the appropriate candidate, if interested in supporting Child and Youth Evening and Rural Pop - Up programs for the organization, or additional coverage for morning care at our other licensed childcare facilities.

Direct Child Care Hours After School:



Monday - Thursday 2:30-6:00pm

Fridays 12:45 PM - 6:00 PM

School Days only.

Wage top up funding



GOA Staff Support Top Up- dependent on Staff Certification and

is only applicable to direct childcare hours



Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.00-$18.00 per hour
