Responsibilities



Assist dentists during a variety of treatment procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control standards are maintained at all times. Operate dental imaging equipment such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners to capture accurate diagnostic images while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Manage patient records using EMR systems like Abelsent and Tracker, ensuring accurate medical documentation, coding, and compliance with HIPAA guidelines. Take vital signs and monitor patient comfort throughout procedures, providing chairside assistance with four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency. Support administrative tasks including dental reception duties, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and updating medical records in Epic or similar systems. Educate patients on dental terminology, post-treatment care instructions, and preventive practices to promote oral health awareness.

Skills



Proficiency in EMR systems such as Abeldent and Tracker, or Epic, for accurate record keeping and documentation. A strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques is essential for safe clinical practice. Experience with dental imaging, including X-ray procedures and 3D scanning technology, relevant to comprehensive diagnostics. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security at all times. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently in various specialties like pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry. Knowledge of dental terminology and dental coding practices for accurate billing and insurance processing. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members such as dental receptionists and other healthcare professionals. Pay: $26.00-$32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 34 per week
