Hours will be Monday-Thursday

Phelan Dental, a reputable dental practice located in Oakville, Ontario, is seeking a skilled and dedicated Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) LEVEL 2, to join our team .As a CDA, you will play a crucial role in assisting our dental professionals in providing high-quality dental care to our patients. This position offers a four day a week schedule and the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Responsibilities:

Assisting Dentists and Dental Hygienists: Provide chairside assistance during dental procedures, ensuring the proper use and sterilization of instruments and equipment. Prepare and organize dental materials, instruments, and treatment areas. Anticipate the needs of the dentist or hygienist, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.

Patient Care: Greet and prepare patients for dental treatments. Take and record patients' medical and dental histories, as well as vital signs. Escort patients to and from the treatment areas. Provide post-operative instructions and educate patients on oral hygiene practices.

Dental Radiography: Take digital dental x-rays, ensuring proper positioning and patient comfort. Maintain accurate and up-to-date radiographic records.

Sterilization and Infection Control: Adhere to strict infection control protocols, including sterilization and disinfection of instruments, equipment, and treatment areas. Monitor and maintain supply levels, ensuring availability of necessary materials and equipment.

Administrative Duties: Maintain a clean and organized dental office environment. Ordering dental supplies for the office.

Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other dental professionals and support staff to ensure optimal patient care. Foster a positive and professional working atmosphere.

Requirements:

Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) LEVEL 2 Certification: Must possess a valid certification as a Dental Assistant from an accredited program and be registered with the appropriate regulatory body in Ontario. HARP certification a MUST!

Dental Assisting Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Dental Assistant in a dental practice. Familiarity with general dentistry procedures and dental terminology is required.

Radiography Certification: Proficiency in dental radiography techniques and experience in taking dental x-rays. Must have a valid HARP certification in dental radiography.

Infection Control Knowledge: Thorough understanding of infection control protocols, sterilization techniques, and adherence to occupational health and safety regulations.

Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally and empathetically with patients and team members.

Organizational Skills: Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are essential.

Professionalism and Teamwork: A professional demeanor and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. Positive attitude, adaptability, and a commitment to patient care.
