Duties



Assist the dentist during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring efficient workflow. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and supplies while maintaining strict aseptic techniques and infection control standards. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), including digital imaging and 3D scans, ensuring accurate positioning and patient safety. Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Cleardent and similar platforms to document patient information accurately while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Perform vital signs assessments and review medical histories to support comprehensive patient care. Support front desk operations by acting as a dental receptionist--scheduling appointments, confirming patient details, and managing patient flow efficiently. Conduct medical documentation and coding for insurance claims and billing processes in compliance with healthcare regulations. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care to promote ongoing dental health. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment following infection control protocols and OSHA standards. Assist with medical imaging procedures as needed for comprehensive diagnostics within the dental setting. Support four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize efficiency during procedures. Keep up-to-date with the latest developments in dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and clinical best practices to ensure high-quality patient care.

Requirements



Valid certification as a Dental Assistant from an accredited program Proficiency in EMR systems such as Cleardent Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times. Experience with dental radiography including X-ray techniques and 3D scanning technology. Ability to perform chairside assisting with competence in aseptic technique and infection control protocols. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and clinical procedures across various specialties including prosthodontics and endodontics. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients of all ages--especially pediatrics--and team members. Capable of supporting medical documentation efforts accurately within busy clinical environments. Prior experience working in general dentistry or specialty practices such as pediatric or restorative dentistry is desirable. Pay: $20.52-$25.00 per hour
