Overview

Harbour Dental Centre has an exciting full-time position for a certified Dental Assistant. We are looking for a dynamic individual who able to cover Monday 8-530, Tuesday 8-530, Wednesday 8-530, Thursday 8-530, Friday 8-3pm, Saturday 8am to 3pm.

Duties

Assist the dentist during various procedures, including chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare and maintain the dental operatory, ensuring all instruments are sterilized and ready for use. Take and develop dental X-rays, ensuring compliance with safety protocols. Record and manage patient medical records, including medical documentation and coding as necessary. Utilize EMR systems such as Paradigm for patient scheduling, charting, and billing processes. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions. Monitor vital signs and assist with medical imaging as needed during procedures. Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices to ensure high-quality patient care. Support the front office with dental receptionist duties when required, including appointment scheduling and patient check-in/out processes.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting; experience in pediatric dentistry is preferred. Proficiency in using dental software systems such as Paradigm Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times. Ability to perform basic medical coding and maintain accurate medical records. Strong understanding of aseptic techniques, infection control protocols, and general dentistry practices. Familiarity with advanced dental technologies such as 3D scanners is advantageous. Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients of all ages. Certification in CPR or BLS is preferred; additional certifications in radiology or dental assisting are a plus.
