Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care while ensuring the smooth operation of our dental clinic. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, excellent chairside assisting skills, and familiarity with various dental software and procedures. The Dental Assistant will work closely with dentists and other staff to support patient treatment plans in a friendly and professional environment.

Responsibilities



Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring a comfortable experience for patients. Prepare and maintain the dental operatory, including sterilization of instruments and infection control protocols. Take and develop X-rays as needed, adhering to safety standards. Record medical histories, vital signs, and other relevant patient information accurately in EMR systems. Utilize dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for scheduling appointments and managing patient records. Provide chairside assistance during various procedures including general dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with the dental receptionist to ensure efficient patient flow within the clinic.

Qualifications



Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role within a dental clinic is preferred. Proficiency in using EMR systems; familiarity with Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and procedures including four-handed dentistry techniques. Experience with medical imaging techniques and 3D scanners is an advantage. Understanding of infection control practices and aseptic techniques. Ability to take vital signs and perform basic medical documentation tasks. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members. A commitment to providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment. Certification in Dental Assisting or relevant qualifications is preferred but not mandatory. Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $21.72-$36.17 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 20 per week
