We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice for Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday from 1pm till 7pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 10am till 3pm. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional chairside assistance, ensure infection control protocols are followed, and support the overall efficiency of our dental team. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment while contributing to patient care and comfort. The Dental Assistant will play a vital role in supporting general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics procedures.
Responsibilities
Assist dentists during various dental procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging equipment such as 3D scanners.
Maintain strict infection control standards using aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures.
Educate patients on oral health care practices and post-treatment instructions.
Manage patient flow efficiently as a dental receptionist when needed, including scheduling appointments and updating medical records.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality and privacy.
Support four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance treatment efficiency and patient comfort.
Assist with medical coding for billing purposes and ensure accurate documentation of procedures performed.
Support the dental team with general clinic duties, including inventory management and maintaining a clean, organized workspace.
Skills
Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical imaging, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
Experience with X-ray techniques and digital imaging tools including 3D scanners.
Familiarity with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques within a dental setting.
Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently during various dental procedures across specialties like prosthodontics, endodontics, pediatrics, and general dentistry.
Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards to ensure compliance.
Excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration.
