Your Contribution



Our Madawaska Division is seeking talent to fill a Certified Boiler Technician position. This job is permanent, full-time. In this role, you will be responsible for planned and unplanned maintenance of or kiln systems, including the boiler system to ensure the safe and efficient treatment of lumber products at our facility. This role will report directly to the General Manager and indirectly to the Kiln Manager.

Compensation

- Your competitive hourly wage will be negotiated during the interview process and is dependent upon candidate experience and qualifications. This position also offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Work Life Ballance

- Monday-Thursday: 44 hours per week

Responsibilities



Oversees and performs regular facility, facility mechanical and electrical equipment and systems monitoring and inspection, preventative and corrective maintenance to ensure facility uptime objectives are met, uninterrupted client operation and asset integrity of assigned facility are maintained. Provides observations about facility, facility mechanical and electrical equipment and systems conditions and deficiencies and provides recommendations for enhancement and repair Ensures that activities are performed in accordance to established processes as well as internal and external requirements including but not limited to environmental, health and safety, fire protection Collaborate with other departments as required to ensure safe and efficient operations Check, inspect, monitor and maintain the operational integrity of plant services equipment by troubleshooting and following up on all equipment failures in a timely manner; inclusive of minor repairs and assist with scheduling shutdowns and bi-yearly boiler maintenance Complete all required log entries, records, reports and log maintenance issues accurately and on-time Maintain day to day operation of steam boiler and all other mechanical and electrical systems Respond to emergency situations, providing timely and appropriate resolution Diagnose, repair, and complete routine inspections of equipment in kilns and boilers, including our hot water boiler and steam boiler Perform all required duties safely, efficiently and within required housekeeping, safety and environmental standards Assist with other areas of the kiln operations when required

Skills & Qualifications



A valid 3rd or 4th Class Power Engineering certificate Experience maintaining and troubleshooting boilers Previous experience with wood fired boilers preferred Class G driver's license Good communication skills: both verbal and written Demonstrates a high degree of safety consciousness: awareness of hazards and potential hazards and is diligent about adherence to health and safety procedures and practices Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Demonstrates strong mechanical aptitude Self-starter with an ability to work with limited supervision Strong work ethic including the ability to recognize and react to urgent situations Takes pride in their attendance record Comfortable with a face-paced environment Able to sit, walk, stand for extended periods of time Lift up to 50lbs
