Your Role CPC Pumps International Inc. is a part of the Atlas Copco Group, a world-leading industrial group present in more than 180 countries, over the span of approximately 150 years. CPC Pumps specializes in designing, manufacturing, testing, and servicing of engineered heavy duty process centrifugal pumps (fully API 610 Compliant) for the CCUS, Green Energy / Circular Economy, H2, LNG, Chem-Petrochem and power-generating industry since 1957. CPC Pumps is looking for a talented professional to join our team to fill the role of Centrifugal Pump Designer. Purpose The Centrifugal Pump Designer is responsible for the following tasks:
Design and develop centrifugal pumps
Perform CFD on centrifugal pumps to identify causes of problems from CFD & test results, and provide plans for improvement
Perform FEA analysis for pump components as needed
Duties and Responsibilities
Perform CFD on centrifugal pumps including performance and NPSH to verify hydraulic design, and identify areas where improvements can be made.
Work on centrifugal pump design to meet specified hydraulic performance as per job specifications and relevant industrial standards/codes
Participate in hydraulic component modifications for performance improvement
Identify and implement new/improved design standard and procedural documents
Work with other Engineers to direct the investigation and resolution of problems relating to design or quality issues, record and report findings, make corrections, and develop and implement permanent, cost-effective solutions
To succeed, you will need Qualification Requirements
Experience with mechanical design, preferably with centrifugal pump design and pressure vessels
Solid knowledge in hydraulics and mechanical engineering
Knowledge of API, HI, ASME and ASTM standards
Proficiency in engineering and design software (such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Microsoft office)
Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to work well with others
Knowledge of ANSYS Fluent is an asset
Experience in programming with Visual Basics or C++ is an asset
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering.
Physical Demands
